Proposed New Wages Rates

The Scottish Agricultural Wages Board (SAWB) have proposed new minimum hourly wage rates to take effect from 1 October 2010. The proposed rates are as follows (current rates in brackets): -

  • Workers with more than 26 weeks continuous employment £6.51 (£6.32)
  • Workers in their first 26 weeks of employment £5.96 (£5.80)
  • New apprentices in first 12 months £3.61 (£3.50)
  • Workers who hold SVC Level III or above in Agriculture additional £0.99 (£0.96)
  • Dog allowance £4.94 per week (£4.80)

Employers can make written representations to the SAWB, which will meet again in mid August to decide if the proposals will go ahead.
