Abertay University opens £3.5m Science Laboratories

A new set of laboratories have recently been opened by the University of Abertay, Dundee at a cost of £3.5million.

The labs have been set up to support the teaching of science, engineering and technology which includes forensics and biomedical sciences and will also be used for the development of food and drink, including Scotland’s only customer experience laboratory.

Professor Carl Schaschke, head of the school of science, engineering and technology, said “I am delighted that our new laboratories have been designed to place our current and our future students at the forefront of cutting-edge science and technology. In addition to being used by our undergraduate and postgraduate students, the labs have been designed to enable our staff to work in partnership with business.”
