Community Spirit in Cupar

Our Cupar office volunteered to take part in the Leuchars night of the annual Cupar Rotary community sleigh run just before Christmas, with local residents donating over £400 during a house-to-house collection on the night.

Today, the staff involved in the sleigh run, along with John Morrow of Cupar Rotary, presented Age Concern Cupar with a cheque for just over £200. The remaining £200 goes towards the Cupar Rotary Club’s general charity funds to be made available for local causes throughout the year.

John Morrow of Cupar Rotary Club said, “The support of local organisations has been tremendous and it is looking like it was the most successful Charity fundraising year in the 25 years the sleigh has been going. With the sleigh evolving into a community run effort, the social awareness of businesses like EQ Accountants is extremely valuable and the enthusiasm of their team to get involved in the street collection and also to donate their fundraising to such a worthwhile local cause as Age Concern is fantastic.”

Meanwhile, Mark Gallacher, Partner in EQ’s Cupar office and head of the Charities team added, “Our Cupar office was delighted to take part in this year’s sleigh run. For a rather damp and dreary December night, we had a fantastic time engaging with the local community and raising a significant amount of money for some of more vulnerable members of the community.  We would like to thank everyone who opened their doors to us on the night, and contributed so generously.”
