Charities are understandably concerned about what to do during the COVID-19 pandemic and are having to rapidly adapt their operations to keep their organisations safe.

Most charities will need to change the way they work during the outbreak and to help with this the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) have published COVID-19 guidance for charities, providing information on what charities need to know during this time and links to sources for help and advice.

The OSCR guidance highlights a number of key areas of concern for charities, including:

  • Contacting OSCR
  • Charity meetings and governance
  • Reporting to OSCR and making changes
  • Registering a charity
  • Volunteering

Partner and Head of EQ Charities, Mark Gallacher, commented,

“We are working hard to help and reassure our clients during this uncertain time, providing them with regular updates on the support packages available to them. For questions relating to the daily running of a charity, OSCR is a great source of information and is regularly updated as the situation develops ”
