Dundee university plans to be leader in forensic medicine Category: Technology - Posted On: Apr 19 2018 Dundee University has announced plans to create around 1,000 jobs and become a world leader in Forensic Medicine if it can secure funding of just over £100 million. An initial £64 million is being sought through the Tay Cities Deal, which would be used to create 400 jobs in the Dundee Life Sciences centre with an anticipated increase of over 200 jobs in the construction sector. A further £43 million would be used to create a further 500 jobs over the next 10 years. As well as creating jobs, the funds would be used to pay for new incubator space as well as a new elective diagnostic and treatment centre at Ninewells Hospital. A supporting document states “Forensic science research and development at the University of Dundee is poised to step on to the global stage”.
