EQ at home – Laura Dorward Category: People - Posted On: Apr 1 2020 At EQ, our people are at the heart of what we do. Although working from home means we are physically spread across our regions, our team are working hard to maintain regular communication with their clients whilst continuing to support colleagues by connecting with them daily. We caught up with Laura Dorward, Assistant Manager in our Cupar office, to find out more about her experience working from home. How are you finding working remotely? It’s been busy! With so many different announcements over the last week, its important to keep on top of it all and make sure our clients know what to do and feel as reassured as possible. What are you doing to keep in touch with the rest of the EQ team? We are having lots of calls, emails and video chats. We have also split into small groups like the rooms we have in the office to make sure we are all keeping in contact. Barely an hour goes by without speaking to someone in the office! How are you looking after your emotional well being? I have tried to keep as much of a routine as possible, finishing work and having lunch away from the laptop. My partner is on night shift just now, which is making it a bit harder, but I have daily check-in with family and friends and I’m going to try a virtual quiz tonight. My garden is also looking a lot tidier! What advice would you give to others working from home? With all the technology around there are so many ways to keep in contact so continue to talk to others just as you would in the office. Also try to keep as much of your normal routine as possible. I always find a ‘to do’ list makes me much more productive which is helpful when there is so much going on. Tell us, what are your new co-workers like? A lot quieter but rubbish at taking their turn to make the coffees! Our doors may be temporarily closed, but EQ are still here to support you. You can contact us on any of our usual telephone numbers and email addresses, which you can find on the Our People page on this website. All News View the latest news stories from all of our sectors.
