Free seminars take businesses to the cloud

Fife businesses are being invited to free drop-in sessions highlighting the benefits of Cloud accounting.

In the near future, it is expected that most businesses, including sole traders and landlords, will be required, by law, to submit accounting information quarterly via computer software rather than manually once a year.

Although the finer detail of the Government’s ‘Making Tax Digital’ proposals have yet to be clarified, our Glenrothes office are holding drop-in advisory sessions for local businesses looking to prepare for the changes ahead. These will take place during every Wednesday in July (5th, 12th, 19th and 26th), from 10am until 4pm.

Businesses will be given an overview of the Xero software, exploring some of its most useful features to see how it can help them. Xero is one of Britain’s leading online book-keeping software houses, one of many used by our EQ Accounting Services department. Our dedicated Virtual Finance Office (VFO) offers expertise and support to clients’ day-to-day financial controls, allowing them to focus on their key business objectives.

Karen Adams who manages EQ Accounting in Glenrothes said, “The days of the manual cashbook appear to be numbered, with business owners having to consider whether their books and records will comply with future requirements. Business owners are having increasing demands placed on them but using innovative systems, such as Xero, allows us to remove some of the burden.

“We are inviting local businesses, including sole traders working from home, to pop in and take that first step, and to see the wider benefits of Cloud accounting. We always strive to keep abreast of any HMRC changes and offer a comprehensive service which will be fully compliant with any new demands. We can offer support, training or a bookkeeping service which will ensure that our clients comply with the law.”
