At EQ, we have spent the last month supporting our clients through these turbulent times whilst we, like most other businesses, settle into working from home. We have ensured that our clients continue to be our priority, and that we remain in constant contact to provide relevant advice and support, every step of the way.

One of those clients is Denvir Marketing, a leading, full service Scottish marketing agency based in Stirling, focused on providing great client service. Launched 17 years ago by CEO, Suzanne George, Denvir not only creates award-winning brand identities but delivers the entire brand journey to go beyond the expectations of each client.

Prior to the impact of COVID-19, the team at Denvir were expecting another busy year but following the Government announcement, they shut their doors to ensure staff safety and tried to minimise impact to their clients as much as possible. Due to the office closure, a few staff had to be furloughed whilst a core team continued working from home to continue to deliver for clients which included active campaigns continuing, new planning to drive client’s business post lockdown, rescheduling projects and prioritising workload.

To ensure the business could come out of lockdown as quickly as possible with minimal impact, they spent time discussing how best to proceed with their accountant and business advisor, Louise Grant.

Louise Grant, Partner in our Dundee office comments, “This is a challenging time for all businesses, so we’ve worked closely with Denvir to ensure they have our full support. Whilst working from home, Laura Nicol, from our EQ team, completed the detailed management accounts for the period to 31 March 2020 by mid-April, with commentary to ensure the directors at Denvir had accurate, up to date information to allow them to make the right business decisions.

“As both our EQ and EQ teams work together to support Suzanne and the team, Laura and I have been in regular contact to provide relevant information on the support measures announced and advise on steps to take. We have assisted them in completion of their Business Support Grant which I am delighted they have now received along with other payment deferrals and options available to them. Meanwhile, Laura, who also deals with their payroll has been providing support and advice on the Job Retention Scheme and has made their first claim on their behalf under the new portal. It has been crucial for us that we remain approachable, regardless of working from home and ensure Denvir has the support they required, when they need it most.

“It’s also great to see other financial institutions that we’ve put them in touch with over the last year providing support to the business during the pandemic and I have no doubt that Denvir will be able to make it through these tough times and come back stronger.”

Suzanne George, CEO of Denvir added,

“Louise and Laura have both been a fantastic support in these challenging times.  With agile accurate information we have together managed to maintain a strong financial and business performance while navigating lockdown.  Market foresighting is part of our core services and, coupled with the processes we had established with EQ and EQ across the past few years, meant we could respond very quickly.  We had to temporarily restructure the business to market fit and have maintained servicing our key clients as they require.  Many clients are now using this time to plan forward and review/refresh assets, particularly digital, to ensure they have the tools to drive forward when we see the emergence of a new degree of normality.  We are also monitoring the markets and customer behaviours to ensure we support clients identify the new normal drivers that will affect brand performance.  A particular highlight of working with the changing zeitgeist is the current radio and social “Mac the Most of It” campaign we have developed for Scotland’s leading flavoured water, MacB where consumers are showing us how they are having lockdown fun!”
