Jobs boost expected in games industry

A recent survey carried out by TIGA – the games industry trade association – shows that over 75% of games businesses expect to grow their staff numbers during 2019, and over 60% believe that the business environment is favourable to the video games industry.

As in previous surveys, the biggest barriers to growth were obtaining finance and skills shortages.

TIGA chief executive, Dr Richard Wilson said,

“Video games tax relief is fuelling growth in the sector. The relief effectively reduces the cost and risks of games development and incentivises investment and job creation in the games industry.”
