John Seaton Category: EQ News - Posted On: Aug 22 2018 The staff at EQ were saddened to learn of the death of John Seaton last Friday. For over 30 years, John was a partner in the Forfar office of JLM, one of the founder firms of EQ, and he continued, on a consultancy basis, until his retirement in 2011. After completing his training to become a Chartered Accountant in Dundee, John transferred to his beloved Angus where he served the local business community with dedication for almost 40 years. He was a gentleman to the core and was greatly admired by his clients and work colleagues. Not only was John immersed in the business community, he was well known for his involvement with several local charities, including The Rotary Club of Forfar in which he served as both President and Treasurer. A talented goalkeeper in his youth, John also served on the board of Forfar Athletic FC for several years. EQ partner, Mark Gallacher, who worked with John for many years said, “I consider myself very fortunate to have known John as both a friend and a work colleague. A few sage comments from John, often tinged with his dry sense of humour, were worth their weight in gold.” John is survived by his wife Norma, two sons, Chris and Colin, and three grandchildren. Our heartfelt condolences go out to them all. All News View the latest news stories from all of our sectors. View All News News by category View the latest news stories from a specific sector.
