Our Cupar office continues to grow in numbers

From farms, hotels and retailers to charities, we go above and beyond what might be expected from an accountancy practice, not only ensuring our clients comply with stringent financial legislation but achieve their long-term business goals. Last week, our Cupar office was featured in the Fife Free Press, showcasing how far it has grown in the four years under the EQ banner.

With a dedicated team of 12 staff, the office has gone from strength to strength under the management of Partners Mark Wilken and Mark Gallacher.

Louise Wilson, the first ever Chartered Accountancy trainee to join our Cupar office, passed her final exam and is now a permanent member of staff, continuing in-practice until she officially becomes a CA later this month.

Following in Louise’s footsteps, Jayne Thoms and Melanie Martin have both enjoyed exam success at TPS level, with Melanie securing an impressive 100% in her Principles in Taxation exam, setting a great example to Andrew Kelly who recently joined the team.

Recently, Scott Grieg was named in 2019’s ICAS Top 100 Young CAs list. He has been key to the continued development in Cupar since he moved four years ago, both in terms of his agricultural expertise and his commercial sector knowledge.

To support the growth, the administrative team has also been extended, with Joan Cunningham now working alongside her fellow Admin Assistant / Receptionist, Pam Winton and team members Laura Dorward and Conor Morrison having both moved to strengthen the team.

Our previous article regarding Liz Goldie officially becoming the first Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) in the Cupar office in March, and the sixth across the firm, further cemented our reputation for tax expertise and innovation and with our growing number of ‘taxperts’, we launched our dedicated EQ Taxation website. Tailor-made to not only give clients and contacts an easy way to search for tax focused advice, but to showcase the fantastic, varied tax solutions and guidance we provide to our growing client base.
