EQ’s specialist tax team act for Kettle Produce Limited and its directors. Following a discussion with the company’s finance director, it became clear that the company was engaged in research and development activity, specifically in relation to product development and process improvement.
EQ met with the key management team to determine more detail about the work done and then produced a first draft report for discussion with the company. The R&D claim was completed shortly thereafter and resulted in a substantial tax repayment to the client. Work has commenced on the current years claim and it is expected that future R&D claims will significantly assist the company in creating new employment as it seeks to increase its already impressive product range.
Liz Waugh, the Finance Director of Kettle Produce Limited commented,
“We use EQ Taxation for our specialist taxation advisory support and we have found them to be both practical and imaginative in delivering excellent service and highly impressive results.”

EQ Taxation and Corporate Finance teams recently assisted the directors and shareholders of MFM Community Limited in selling their dental practice.
EQ were asked to participate in the negotiations during which a potential key legislative change was identified by EQ as a problem. This resulted in the deal being fully restructured to the benefit of the vendors, our clients. EQ’s specialists allowed the revised deal to be concluded without further delay and our clients are now working as associates with the purchasers. On top of securing a very attractive tax rate for the vendors, EQ also provided completion accounts and advisory support to the legal team ensuring a highly successful outcome for the owners.
Grant Mitchell, Pam Ferguson and Mike Mannion, the directors of MFM Community Limited commented,
“We are hugely grateful to EQ for supporting us through this complex transaction and for securing an excellent outcome for us. Their proactive advice and quick responses proved pivotal in the completion of the deal.”
