Renowned for our professionalism and providing clients with a high-quality valued service, we are looking to strengthen our audit team and service offering in our Dundee and Glenrothes offices by recruiting an Audit Senior.

The Role

In this role you will oversee audit fieldwork to completion, including substantive and analytical audit procedures.  You will be responsible for the planning, progression, and completion of audit assignments, ensuring audit files have the necessary documentation in place.

As part of the audit process, you will have the opportunity to identify and highlight risk areas and matters of concern to the Assignment Partner and Manager.  On certain assignments, you will also have responsibility for reviewing the work of more junior staff and assisting them with their training and development.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with other services to clients (for example, planning, overseeing, and reviewing services provided i.e. accountancy, tax, business advisory work etc.)
  • Communicating with the engagement Partner, Manager and ‘team’ involved to ensure they are fully briefed on current assignments.
  • Where a need exists, encouraging existing clients to make full use of the firm’s services.
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Preparing and monitoring budgets/WIP and prepare/aid collection of fees.
  • Maintaining full awareness of the firm’s internal systems and services.
  • Involvement in marketing activities.
  • Assisting the Partners and Managers in attracting new clients to the firm.
  • Attending networking events on behalf of the firm.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with intermediaries/potential clients.
  • Assisting Managers and playing an active role within the technical team – motivating, training and developing staff as well as taking part in discussions re work-in-progress, deadlines and priorities, and technical issues arising etc.

The Candidate

Essential:

  • ACCA/CA qualified.
  • Newly Qualified or have up to 2 years post qualified accountancy experience, gained in general practice.
  • Technically competent and experienced in Audit.
  • Technically competent in accountancy and tax compliance, with business advisory skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and client service skills.
  • Excellent organisational and people skills.

Desirable:

  • Technically competent in tax planning.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Full valid current driving licence.
