Due to continued growth, we are looking to strengthen our Amber Accounting team in our Dundee office by recruiting a Bookkeeping Assistant.

The Role

This is a varied role which involves all aspects of bookkeeping for a range of clients.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with bookkeeping duties for a range of clients including VAT compliance
  • Preparing reports and financial statements
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Providing accounting software support and advice
  • Producing budgets
  • Providing support to the EQ Technical Team

The Candidate

Essential:

  • At least 6 National 5 grades (or equivalent) at grade B (or equivalent) or above.
  • Competent in Microsoft packages including Office and Outlook.
  • Good numerical skills.
  • Articulate – good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Client service skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
  • The ability to use own initiative.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable:

  • Higher Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Higher Accounts or Business Studies (or equivalent).
  • Experience and working knowledge of Xero and Sage 50 Accounts.
  • Experience of preparing management accounts.
  • Experience of working in an accountancy practice / bureau environment.
  • Experience in a similar bookkeeping role.
