We are keen to help you make decisions about your future career pathway. Suitable for third year university students, we offer paid placements in all of our offices for up to six weeks over summer.
We also support the RGU 48-week paid placement over year 3 of the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance course.
Interns will gain an insight into working in a practice environment before making vital decisions about their future. We seek to provide an invaluable experience and exposure to a wide variety of assignments to allow you to make that important decision.
We are no longer accepting applications for our internship programme for summer 2024.
Many of our interns have joined us as graduate trainees and we are proud they have chosen to stay with us beyond this.
You can take a look at what our previous interns had to say about their experience below.
Completing a summer placement with EQ helped me to choose my career path, as before I wasn’t even sure I wanted to work in an office. I was fortunate enough to be offered a job at the end of the internship which really helped me when going back to do my fourth year, as I did not have the added stress of trying to find a job. You never know what opportunities an internship could open up for you.
At university, you’re given made up companies, with made up numbers and told to process the figures you’ve been given, but actually getting to understand the client you’re working on really does make a difference.
I really enjoyed the number of training opportunities open to you at EQ. Whilst continually learning with on the job training, you were also encouraged to participate in various other internal training programmes. At EQ, my colleagues were always happy to answer any question that arose.
It only took four weeks of placement for me to decide that I wanted to train towards my CA qualification and make a successful career out of it!
I love the level of responsibility you are given from day one. Over the years my responsibilities have increased – I now manage my own client portfolio and have progressed from a trainee to Manager.
EQ is the ideal place to complete your placement year. The variety of both tasks and business you will work on provides a great platform of knowledge for fourth year and beyond.
I would urge any student who is considering whether a summer placement is worthwhile to apply as I have found it to be the most rewarding and helpful experience so far, whilst at university.
I also enjoyed the variety of work you get to do at EQ. At the time I didn’t appreciate the benefit of this and was just enjoying the variation day to day. However, on my return to fourth year (and in my professional exams after uni) I realised how much of an advantage I had in comparison to other students.
