It all Adds Up – Supporting Maths Week Category: EQ News - Posted On: Oct 2 2017 To help boost the image and enjoyment of maths, we contributed £250 towards a host of activities and challenges which St Pius X RC Primary School pupils, including nursery children, embarked on as part of the inaugural launch of ‘Maths Week Scotland’. The Scottish Government campaign ran from 11 to 17 September 2017, with St Pius chosen as the Maths Week launch school for Dundee City Council. Class Teacher Liam Sturrock said, “As part of ‘Maths Week’, we organised a variety of exciting activities and challenges to inspire our learners and raise the profile of numeracy and Maths in school. To have EQ on board, a business which is underpinned by maths and numbers, was just fantastic and we are very grateful for their input.” Our contribution helped fund prizes and certificates for pupils. Jenny Law, our HR and Training Manager, added, “We are delighted to have sponsored St Pius Primary School’s ‘Maths Week’. Not only are we eager to support local communities and youth projects, it’s also important for us to help inspire the next generation of accountants. Maths is a key subject for a huge array of careers and it’s crucial that children enjoy it, and the challenges it brings, from the earliest of ages.” Our Training & HR Manager Jenny Law with St Pius X RC Primary School Children (LtoR)Aidan Boyle, Lewis Marshall , Tyler Henderson, Kerra Duell, John Macgreggor, Aidan Reilly, Daniell Davidson and Jamie Swan All News View the latest news stories from all of our sectors.
