ASSC’s short-term lets survey launched Category: Leisure - Posted On: Jul 27 2022 In response to the Scottish Government announcing its intent to licence all short-term lets in Scotland from 1 October 2022, the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) are asking all short-term let providers to complete a new survey to help the Moffat Centre for Travel and Tourism Business Development develop a current (mid-2022) baseline analysis of the sector that will enable future comparisons based on the same metrics and indicators. Fiona Campbell, Chief Executive of the ASSC, said: “The ASSC has always been committed to providing an evidence base to help better inform discussions around short-term letting. This is a subject of considerable importance with new licensing and planning regulations affecting the sector and as we look ahead to a sustainable, post-pandemic future for our industry.” Short-term lets include self-catering units, B&Bs, un-licenced guest houses, glamping pods, yurts, etc. ASSC are looking for as many responses as possible to ensure that the sector’s needs are being represented. The survey should take roughly 6 minutes to complete and is open for the next few weeks, with the data collected used to inform and argue on behalf of the industry.
