EQ at home – Liz Goldie Category: People - Posted On: Apr 23 2020 At EQ, our people are at the heart of what we do. Although working from home means we are physically spread across our regions, our team are working hard to maintain regular communication with their clients whilst continuing to support colleagues by connecting with them daily. We caught up with Liz Goldie, Manager in our Cupar office, to find out more about her experience working from home. How are you finding working remotely? It has been a challenge and has taken me some time to get used to it. It can be difficult juggling working full time whilst looking after a 9 year old, but you just have to be flexible and working remotely does make that easier. We have now got into a better routine with working from home and home-schooling and it seems to be going well now. What are you doing to keep in touch with the rest of the EQ team? We communicate daily either by telephone, using Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp. We also have a weekly office quiz on a Friday afternoon which is good fun and it is great to see and catch up with everyone in the office at the same time. How are you looking after your emotional well being? My partner, my daughter and I go out a walk each day around the village or surrounding area, we are lucky to stay in an area with a choice of lovely walks. I have also been spending as much time as I can in the garden, trying to improve my gardening skills and I am in regular contact with family and friends via telephone and video messaging which helps. What advice would you give to others working from home? Try and stick to a routine a much as possible, get out each day for a walk or run as it does make a difference and enjoy the extra time with your family as when life gets back to some sort of normality you won’t get this amount of time again. Tell us, what are your new co-workers like? Just as chatty as my normal co-workers but I am having to do a lot more coffee runs! Our doors may be temporarily closed, but EQ are still here to support you. You can contact us on any of our usual telephone numbers and email addresses, which you can find on the Our People page on this website. All News View the latest news stories from all of our sectors.
