EQ take part in the RSABI Great Glen Challenge

Category: Agriculture - Posted On: May 31 2016

The RSABI Great Glen Challenge is in its 5th year, and 2016 will be the first year in which EQ has entered a team. This year’s event is taking place on Friday 26 August 2016 with a route spanning from Fort Augustus to Fort William while raising money for RSABI.

Each member of the team completes a different discipline, competing against other organisations and professionals from the agriculture sector. Various other accountancy firms, solicitors, banks and land agents all compete to be crowned the winner, however the main aim is to have fun taking part, and raise as much money as possible for RSABI.

The competitors from EQ who are taking part are –

Mark McColgan – 17km run
Robert Urquhart – 46km mountain bike
Anna Coff – 18km walk
Kiera McDonald – 6km kayak

RSABI is a unique Scottish charity with roots going back to 1897. They provide financial assistance, support and advice in confidence to those people who have worked in Scotland in land-based occupations and who are suffering hardship. Every year RSABI helps hundreds of people with backgrounds in farming, crofting, forestry, horticulture, fish-farming, gamekeeping and rural estate work who, due to illness, disability, poverty or crisis, find that they are unable to cope. RSABI relies on the generosity of its supporters – individuals, businesses and trusts – in order to ensure that they can continue to provide effective relief to those in need.

The EQ team, comprised of staff from the Forfar Office, are all looking the taking part and hope that the weather is in our favour.

Any donations will be greatly received and can be made on the Virgin Money Giving websitehttp://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/EQAccountants or at the reception desk at any of our offices.
