How did your EQ journey begin?
I had always envisaged myself going on to train to become a qualified CA and naturally I looked to work with a firm who could provide the best training contract to allow me to achieve this goal – EQ matched my criteria.

After studying Accountancy at University, I joined EQ as a CA trainee in 2009 and have progressed to become a Principal Manager.

What have you enjoyed most during your progression through the Firm?
Not from a farming background, I enjoyed the comprehensive internal training programme provided by the Firm. It provided me the opportunity to relocate to our new Cupar office to strengthen their agricultural service from that office. I have been afforded many unique opportunities strengthen my relationship with clients which I feel adds the personal touch to our job which clients really appreciate.

Since you started at EQ, how do you feel the Firm has evolved?
The increased scale of EQ has provided additional opportunities for interesting and unique work which I enjoy.

What would you say to someone thinking of applying to join EQ?
All the staff have a very good relationship with each other and there are always open conversations amongst everyone, regardless of their level (Junior through to Partner). There are also plenty of social nights out organised during the year which provide a well-earned break from work and studying.

Our environment, whilst entrepreneurial and ambitious, has an incredibly friendly culture throughout as well as being supportive of all our staff. This culture enables us to assemble teams with the appropriate skills and experience to deliver what is required to our diverse and interesting client base. We’re always looking for experienced, qualified professionals to join our specialist teams of business advisers.
