National Basic Payment Support Scheme 2021

Category: AgricultureCOVID-19 - Posted On: Aug 25 2021

To support agricultural businesses that have been impacted by the effects of COVID-19 and Brexit, and help maintain vital cash flow within the rural economy, the Scottish Government have launched the 2021 National Basic Payment Support Scheme (NBPSS21) loan scheme.

The loan offer letters will be sent to eligible farmers and crofters from the middle of August and will include the amount offered, which in most cases is calculated at 95% of anticipated Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) and Greening monies 2021 payment, capped at a maximum of £133,638.

In line with the approach taken to the NBPSS20 loan scheme, those wishing to accept the NBPSS21 scheme will need to reply promptly once the Scottish Government has written to them, indicating that they wish to apply for the loan preferably online or by scanning the QR code on the letter.

You can read the guidance on the NBPSS21 scheme, including how to accept the loan online, here.
