Take part in a consultation on the Agriculture Bill

Category: Agriculture - Posted On: Aug 31 2022

The Scottish Government is asking for opinions on food production, fair income for farmers and protecting biodiversity for the new Agriculture Bill.

The results from this consultation will enable tailored provisions and support to future social, economic, and environmental changes, challenges and opportunities.

This consultation is split into 6 parts, reflecting the proposals that are considered for possible inclusion in the new Agriculture Bill, and will assist in the delivery of the Scottish Government’s Vision for Agriculture.

Mairi Gougeon, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and Islands, commented:

“Scotland’s farmers, crofters and land-managers are vital to our ambition to make our nation fairer and greener. Your responses to this consultation will give us tremendous insight into how best to realise our Vision for Agriculture in a way that works for our rural communities.”

The consultation is open until 21 November 2022 and will include a series of online and in-person events to gather the views of the rural community. To participate, please use this link.
