Small Accommodation Providers Paying Council Tax Fund

Category: COVID-19Leisure - Posted On: Mar 15 2021

The Scottish Government has announced new funding to support small accommodation providers impacted by the pandemic.

Eligible Bed & Breakfasts, guesthouses, small serviced accommodation providers and other self-catering businesses that pay council tax can now access the new Small Accommodation Providers Paying Council Tax Fund (SAP-CTF).

The fund will provide support to council tax paying small accommodation providers in Scotland that have been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions but who have not been eligible for support through the Strategic Framework Business Fund as a result of not being registered on Non-Domestic Rates.

All B&Bs, self-catering businesses and guest houses that have received payments from either the Bed & Breakfast Hardship Fund or the Creative, Tourism and Hospitality Hardship Fund will be automatically eligible for the SAP-CTF and will be contacted by their local authority to register for payment.

New entrants to the fund will need to meet the eligibility criteria, which can be found on the Find Business Support website.

Applications for new entrants open today (15 March 2021) and will close one week later on 22 March 2021. We encourage businesses to ensure that they met the criteria before visiting their local authorities website to apply.
